About

Hello, I'm Bill Cooper, a.k.a. Fatbilly, and I live in Kent, England.  I've been producing and releasing music since 2019.

My musical influences are primarily music from the early house and techno years, although I have an eclectic taste enjoying electro funk, old skool hardcore rave, and trance.   The music genres of my tracks are primarily house and EDM, with a bit of other odds and sods here and there.   When I create a track I'm not always sure where the journey will end and what will come out of the other side of it, but usually 'happy accidents' happen which I can build on, and something fairly decent comes out the other side :-)

As an artist I'm unsigned, however I personally pay to distribute some of my music amongst all of the major outlets so it can be shared and enjoyed by all.   I'm a hobbyist - a 'bedroom producer', but I'm also trying to be as professional about it as I can.  Having said that (as of October 2024 when I am updating this text) I may have to pull the plug on distributing my music to the major streaming sites as indy producers like myself are now getting screwed by the big firms when it comes to payment for streams; it was measly enough before, but now I'm likely to get nothing in the future as I get so few listens of my tracks.

On average I only produce one or two tracks a year, maybe more if I get the bit between my teeth and I'm feeling particularly productive.  I have a very busy home and work life but whenever I can I will spend hours jamming and messing around with sounds with sometimes nothing really productive coming out of it, but who cares?  I really enjoy exploring my equipment and doing what I do when I can get the time, and it's a great de-stressor.   Each track typically takes 20 hours cumulatively to complete from start to finish, and I work on each over a number of days, possibly even weeks to get each one just right!   My lovely wife Claire produces all of the wonderful album and single covers for me using photographs she takes herself.  And yes, the cover on 'The House Of Fatbilly' really is the back of my head!

As I don't do social media much this site provides an outlet for announcements about what I've done, what I'm doing, a chance to listen to my music, and a way in which listeners can contact me.   I love to hear from listeners so please give me a shout if you have time.

The plan for the future is to continue producing music, continue to enjoy the experience, and if I can find a vocalist willing to collaborate start producing more tracks with vocals.  If any talented vocalists are willing to work on some tracks with me please do get in touch.  Aside from that I may explore collabs with other artists if any other producers are interested.

I hope you enjoy my music, and thank you for visiting my site.

Cheers

Fatbilly
